Monday Mar 21, 2022
Welcome to Episode 77 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
As the League One relegation battle remains tight, there will be some key games when the end of the season comes that teams will look back on as being decisive to how their fate ended up. After last week's big win against Dumbarton, East Fife will be hoping that Saturday's loss at Clyde won't be one that they are left to rue.
A lack of fight, spark, and much in the way of an attacking threat, saw the Fife fall to a 2-0 defeat. While other results went their way and they didn't lose any ground in their battle to survival, the games are running out and they need to get back to winning ways immediately.
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon are back to chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly talking points coming out of the game and where that leaves East Fife now in their quest for survival. Plus we look ahead to next weekend's big matches for the bottom three, chat about the successful event with Steve Archibald returning to Bayview last week, and play higher or lower!

Welcome to Episode 76 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
East Fife are right back in it. Mid January, a 2-0 defeat at Dumbarton looked like it could have sealed their relegation fate. But one loss in the last seven, four clean sheets, and a 2-0 win over Dumbarton this weekend has seen the Fife close the gap on the Sons to just three points with seven games to go. Is the great escape on?

Welcome to Episode 75 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.

Michael, Doug, and Gordon are back to chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly talking points coming out of the black and gold's 0-0 draw up at Montrose and look ahead to that veritable six pointer next weekend.
Is the great escape on or will hopes be all but extinguished this time next week? Should Steve Crawford go for it and be aggressive against Dumbarton? And do we have the players to turn our scoring fortunes around as we head down the final stretch averaging less than a goal a game?
We talk about all of that and more, and chat about some of the other talking points around Scottish football this week.

Michael, Doug, and Gordon are back to chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly talking points coming out of the game and where that leaves East Fife now in their quest for survival.
Can the team get more wins in the final quarter of the season than they have in the first three? Should there be any additions before the loan transfer window closes? Is Ryan Wallace back to his best? All of this plus we talk football chants and cruffins.

It wasn't a great performance against the Spiders, but every point is crucial right now. We look back at the high, lows, and howlers from the game, worry about our lack of clinical finishing, chat about some of the standout performers, and look ahead to a trip to Falkirk next weekend.

Welcome to Episode 72 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
It finally happened! East Fife scored a goal this year. Not only that, but they scored three of them. And guess what? They also got their first win since October. And it was away from home! Pinch us, we must be dreaming.
But dreams can come true. Gabrielle told us so all those years ago. We didn't even have to wear an eyepatch.
The guys are back to delve into all the ins and out of the mighty Fife's win over Alloa on Saturday. This was the fight and passion we wanted to see from the team. Have they turned a corner? Is the great escape on? Or should be stay grounded as there's still a hell of a mountain to climb? There's a lot of what ifs for the Fife to avoid relegation. Too many maybe. But at least there's still some hope and signs of improvement and right now that'll do.
We also look around the rest of League 1, including Falkirk's signing of Leigh Griffiths, talk Scottish Cup, chat about Kevin Smith getting a well deserved testimonial, and delve into our bulging mailbag.

Episode 71 - Glory Days of Gold (Not Bonnie and Clyde)

Monday Feb 07, 2022
Welcome to Episode 71 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
Scottish football was in the headlines around the world this week, and not for the best of reasons. On the pitch, East Fife could be getting set to make some headlines of our own as we still search for our first goal of 2022. Will we ever score again? Will we ever win again? Sometimes it doesn't feel like it.
That was on display at the weekend as the team played out a goalless draw at home to Clyde. There were positives - chances created, players back from injury, and back to back clean sheets - but it's far from enough to stave off relegation.
We delve into the match and the talking points coming out of it, plus we talk about the rise of Arbroath, the need to preserve proper football stadiums, Scottish football lower league icons, and cold weather football matches. And we look at the moral and PR disaster that was this week for Raith Rovers. Have they done themselves irreparable damage amongst many in their fanbase?

Welcome to Episode 70 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
It's bleak down Bayview way after back to back home games saw East Fife take just one point, remain goalless in 2022, and cut eight points adrift at the bottom of Scottish League One, sailing into the oblivion that is the bottom tier. Where did all the good times go? You might have to cast your mind back a fair bit for those.
But it's not all doom and gloom! The fab four are reunited once again to pick over the bones of those Falkirk and Peterhead games, ponder if we'll ever score again, look at whether we should just throw the young boys in now, and wonder where are the new faces to help us. Can some pride be restored before the end of the season?

Monday Jan 17, 2022
Monday Jan 17, 2022
Welcome to Episode 69 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents. Nice!
Michael, Lee, and Doug are back and trying to stay upbeat after a demoralising defeat for East Fife at Dumbarton on Saturday.
In what was the biggest game of the season so far, East Fife headed west and had to come away with something to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation alive. They failed and the season is all but over bar the shouting, or based on some of the more recent performances, screams of pain.
The guys look back over the game and question just what is next? Do the club take a look at the young ones now for the rest of the season? Is there any point of bringing in players now when we have more chance to take stock over the summer? And what League Two stadiums is everyone most looking forward to visiting?
All this and more in this episode!

Welcome to Episode 68 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
Michael, Lee, and Doug are back with their first episode of 2022 and they're joined by East Fife Director, and lifelong supporter, Liam Anderson to chat about the current plight of the club.
Last year was not a great one for East Fife and the new one has continued in a similar vein, with two defeats leaving the club firmly rooted at the foot of Scottish League One with a decisive game coming up at Dumbarton on Saturday.
Is there still hope? How did we get to this position? What are the Board doing to remedy the situation? What is the current financial and ownership situation at the club? We chat with Liam about all of this and a lot more, in a must listen interview for those of a black and gold persuasion.
Plus we take time to pay tribute and share some memories of Mr East Fife, Davie Marshall, who sadly passed away this week and whose presence will be deeply missed by everyone at Bayview.
Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:
02.00: Remembering Davie Marshall
16.33: Q&A with East Fife Director Liam Anderson
