Monday Aug 08, 2022
Welcome to Episode 85 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
Where did all the good times go? It seems like no time at all that we were singing that we were top of the league. Riding the crest of the wave that was the opening day win up at Elgin. Fast forward seven days and Fife fans came crashing back down to earth with a bump after a 3-0 home defeat to new kids on the block Bonnyrigg Rose.
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into the match, the main talking points coming out of it, and ponder which of the two results so far are likely to be more indicative of the rest of the season to come.
Do we have the depth to deal with injuries? Is the way to get past our young side just to bully them? And will the price of admission prove a costly mistake as the season goes on? The guys chat about all of this and more and take a look around the weekend's action in the lower leagues.

Welcome to Episode 83 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
It feels like no time since the last season wrapped up, but we're just a couple of days away from East Fife's 2022/23 season getting underway in League Cup action. It's been a close season of turnover down Bayview way, with nearly 20 players moving on and just a quarter of that number coming in.
Is East Fife's squad strong enough and deep enough to earn an immediate return to League 1? Where do they still need to strengthen and do they have the money and the lure to do so? What should fans realistic expectations be for the season ahead? How are things looking off the pitch?
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into all of that and more, plus give their early predictions as to how they see Scottish League 2 playing out.

Welcome to Episode 82 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
We're back with our first podcast of the close season. We promised you some more of our player interviews and we kick things off with a 1990's Bayview legend - Dickie Gibb.
Dickie chats to us about his long career, the good times and bad times at Bayview, winning promotion under Stevie Archibald, the relegation season that followed, the characters at the club, winning two Scottish Junior Cups after leaving the black and gold, and much more. There's lots of fun stories along the way, like how many jerseys did he get after the Scottish Cup game at Ibrox in 1997 and how?!
Michael and Lee also look at East Fife's quiet build to the new season in terms of player signings and chat about the ticket prices for next season's League Two campaign.

Tuesday Apr 05, 2022
Tuesday Apr 05, 2022
Welcome to Episode 79 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast.
When the going got tough for East Fife these past few weeks, the tough could have got going, but instead the black and gold showed what they were really made of and crumbled liked a cheap custard cream in a hot cup of tea, with no goals and no points from three crucial, almost must win, matches.
The coffin has been prepared and the nails are now firmly in one hand of the Scottish League One undertaker and there's a hammer in the other. The guys delve into the latest loss to Airdrie, try and work out where it's all gone wrong this season, debate which of the current squad we actually want back for a League 2 campaign, and try and come up with some realistic signings we could try and bring in.

East Fife fell to a 3-0 defeat to Alloa in a crunch game at Bayview on Saturday, and with other results not going the Fifers way, it's looking bleak at the bottom of Scottish League One.
Michael, Doug, and Gordon are back to chat about the main talking points coming out of the match and where that leaves East Fife now in their quest for survival. Having been blanked in three of their last four games and taken just 10 of the last 39 points available to them, is it game over?

Monday Mar 21, 2022
Welcome to Episode 77 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
As the League One relegation battle remains tight, there will be some key games when the end of the season comes that teams will look back on as being decisive to how their fate ended up. After last week's big win against Dumbarton, East Fife will be hoping that Saturday's loss at Clyde won't be one that they are left to rue.
A lack of fight, spark, and much in the way of an attacking threat, saw the Fife fall to a 2-0 defeat. While other results went their way and they didn't lose any ground in their battle to survival, the games are running out and they need to get back to winning ways immediately.
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon are back to chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly talking points coming out of the game and where that leaves East Fife now in their quest for survival. Plus we look ahead to next weekend's big matches for the bottom three, chat about the successful event with Steve Archibald returning to Bayview last week, and play higher or lower!

East Fife are right back in it. Mid January, a 2-0 defeat at Dumbarton looked like it could have sealed their relegation fate. But one loss in the last seven, four clean sheets, and a 2-0 win over Dumbarton this weekend has seen the Fife close the gap on the Sons to just three points with seven games to go. Is the great escape on?
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon are back to chat about the good, the bad, and the ugly talking points coming out of the game and where that leaves East Fife now in their quest for survival as we delve into the season run-in for those in the mix of going down.
