East Fife got back to winning ways at the weekend with a comfortable 3-1 win over Forfar. A good performance, but one masked by poor opponents? Has this steadied the ship? Will Greig McDonald's stock have risen in the managerial stakes after that one? Did the pie hut have any bridies left after Lee's visit?

Welcome to Episode 90 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
A quarter of the Scottish League 2 season is done and dusted with managerless East Fife sitting midtable, teeter tottering between being a playoff side or getting dragged into a dogfight at the bottom that no-one wants to be a part of. All of which makes the new managerial appointment and the next spell of games very important as to what way the seesaw may fall and potentially crucial to the club's future.
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into the main talking points coming out of it all and what might lie in store for the rest of the season, look at the latest loss to a ghost from the past, discuss the search for a new manager, and revel in Scotland's recent success that's at least cheered everyone up.

Tuesday Sep 27, 2022
Welcome to Episode 89 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast.
East Fife are in search of a new manager once again. Stevie Crawford's second reign at Bayview might not be the most fondly remembered, with a relegation and a not very exciting brand of football left behind. But as Crawford moves up the leagues to be an assistant at Dundee United, East Fife are left with one of their most important appointments in recent memory and it's a decision they simply have to get right, not rush, and examine all the options available to them.
Lee and Doug are joined by a new face/voice as they delve into the main talking points coming out of the last few matches and the search for a new manager. There's always talking points down Bayview way.

Welcome to Episode 88 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
It's hard to glean too much from the start of any new season, as teams struggle to find their feet, their chemistry, and their identities. Six games into the new Scottish League 2 campaign though and East Fife sit third, eight points back of early runaway leaders and six ahead of last placed Forfar. I think most East Fife fans would have bitten your hand of for that in July.
What can we learn from these last few weeks from a black and gold perspective? Well, they're a young and inexperienced team, but one with a fighting spirit and an early knack for earning some crucial late points. Enough to be playoff contenders? Are there concerns there wasn't more additions before the transfer window closed? Is the positional bunching up going to be the story of the season from 2nd to 10th?
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into the main talking points coming out of it of the last few matches and look at the lie of the land down Bayview way and around the division in this early going.

Episode 87 - Glory Days of Gold (Habit Forming)
Monday Aug 22, 2022
Monday Aug 22, 2022
Welcome to Episode 87 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents, except this episode sees the Fab Four reunited together in Scotland for the first time since the podcast began.
Week four of the new Scottish League 2 season is done and dusted and East Fife continued their winning ways with a dramatic stoppage time win at home to Forfar Athletic to make it back to back victories and take the black and gold up to second place in the league table.
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into the match, the main talking points coming out of it, and what we can learn about the team a month into the new season. What will continue the Fife's good start to the campaign? An experienced midfield veteran and a big brassy centre back would fit the bill, but the young guns are more than holding their own just now as Stevie Crawford looks to build on the confidence that comes from making winning a habit.
We chat about all of that and take a look at the comings and going down Bayview way this past week, including partaking in the club's new hospitality package, as well as a look around some of the other action that caught our eye this weekend in the lower leagues of Scottish football.

Sunday Aug 14, 2022
Welcome to Episode 86 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
Week three of the new Scottish League 2 season is now in the history books and East Fife have become road warriors, recording their second straight away win and even keeping that rarity for them that is an ultra clean sheet, following a hard fought 1-0 victory at Albion Rovers, where they more than rode their luck and had a string of top saves from Allan Fleming to thank for the three points..
Michael, Lee, and Gordon delve into the match and the main talking points coming out of it. What can we read into the start of the new season? Probably nothing much just yet, but that won't stop us!
Is this a sign of things to come? Good away, poor at home. Can they only beat teams that begin with a vowel? Or is it more that they've got the beating of poor teams and despite all of their flaws, East Fife aren't the worst team in the league and will pick up enough points along the way to be mid-table dwellers? Can they be more and what do they need to get them to that point?
We chat about all of that and take a look at the comings and going down Bayview way this past week.

Monday Aug 08, 2022
Welcome to Episode 85 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
Where did all the good times go? It seems like no time at all that we were singing that we were top of the league. Riding the crest of the wave that was the opening day win up at Elgin. Fast forward seven days and Fife fans came crashing back down to earth with a bump after a 3-0 home defeat to new kids on the block Bonnyrigg Rose.
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into the match, the main talking points coming out of it, and ponder which of the two results so far are likely to be more indicative of the rest of the season to come.
Do we have the depth to deal with injuries? Is the way to get past our young side just to bully them? And will the price of admission prove a costly mistake as the season goes on? The guys chat about all of this and more and take a look around the weekend's action in the lower leagues.

It feels like no time since the last season wrapped up, but we're just a couple of days away from East Fife's 2022/23 season getting underway in League Cup action. It's been a close season of turnover down Bayview way, with nearly 20 players moving on and just a quarter of that number coming in.
Is East Fife's squad strong enough and deep enough to earn an immediate return to League 1? Where do they still need to strengthen and do they have the money and the lure to do so? What should fans realistic expectations be for the season ahead? How are things looking off the pitch?
Michael, Lee, Doug, and Gordon delve into all of that and more, plus give their early predictions as to how they see Scottish League 2 playing out.

Welcome to Episode 82 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents.
We're back with our first podcast of the close season. We promised you some more of our player interviews and we kick things off with a 1990's Bayview legend - Dickie Gibb.
Dickie chats to us about his long career, the good times and bad times at Bayview, winning promotion under Stevie Archibald, the relegation season that followed, the characters at the club, winning two Scottish Junior Cups after leaving the black and gold, and much more. There's lots of fun stories along the way, like how many jerseys did he get after the Scottish Cup game at Ibrox in 1997 and how?!
Michael and Lee also look at East Fife's quiet build to the new season in terms of player signings and chat about the ticket prices for next season's League Two campaign.
